#39 Lookbook || Urban Spring

Good evening!

The time that all students dread has come, hence why I've been a bit absent recently. A month to go and then I'm all done and I'll be back bombarding you all with posts. I've got a lot I want to write about so I'm excited to share them all with you once I have some more free time!

ANYWAY enough of that, onto this evenings post.

I've recently started a Lookbook (which you can see here) which has excited me lots. I love browsing through and admiring all the different styles but never thought I'd be brave enough to do it myself. Luckily Matt is always on hand with his camera so I thought I'd better take advantage all I can whilst we are still living together at uni.

About the look: Urban Spring

Jumper: Monki
Bag: Urban Outfitters (sale)
Jeans: Topshop
Boots: Topshop
Here in England you can never judge what the weather will be like. As sunny as it is outside, it's likely to be freezing, and when it's grey outside it's probably like a sauna- there's just no winning! Although this look might not scream "Spring" it's perfect for the current British weather.

Necklace: Urban Outfitters

I've been trying to avoid buying black and white clothes, so I went for grey... I'm such a colourful girl. I really like the tone of this jumper and the texture feels so nice and soft. I opted for a medium as I wanted it to be a little baggier and really hate it when the sleeves on something are too short. I am usually a bit afraid of wearing cropped items with skinny jeans but this jumper has completely changed my mind on that. It's short enough without being an awkward length, but it's long enough that it doesn't show TOO much. As there is a lot going on up top with the jumper being cropped, I chose a dainty necklace to go with it rather than anything too chunky.

Bag: Urban Outfitters (sale)

I picked up this beauty in the Urban Outfitters sale for about £10 a couple of weeks ago. I know what you're thinking, what a bargain. As I am a girl that loves to wear black 24/7 this is the perfect accessory to add a splash of colour to any look. I also have a camel coloured coat that it looks perfect with, but more on that another day. It's not the most spacious of bags but it's big enough for the essentials.

Rings: Primark
Nail Varnish: H&M (Shade - Dandelion)

Again, as I always wear black I'm always on the look out for small things that will brighten up my look. I've wanted to try a yellow nail varnish for a while now and found this lovely egg yolk colour in H&M, so I had to buy it. I'm also a HUGE lover of rings, especially gold ones. I mentioned these in my latest post

Boots: Topshop
Finally the boots. I got these beautiful things a while ago from Topshop and literally live in them. They are so comfortable and you can get away with wearing socks, tights or neither, perfect aye.

So that's it! It's a long one yet again and I could still go on and on if the library wasn't calling my name (yawn). I hope you've enjoyed this post and I'd love it if you'd check out my Lookbook!

I'll be back soon, but for now it's back to work work work.

#38 London - Day to Night

Good Evening, I am back!

Recently my life has been taken over by assignments so I couldn't flippin' wait to relax last weekend. It was my friend's birthday in March, so we ventured to London for belated celebrations.

We began in Harrods (which as her special treat) where we devoured a chocolate fountain and drank champagne (how glamorous), this was followed by going to see Mamma Mia, then dinner and then a club. There was a lot going on and with no option to go home to get changed, I needed an outfit that I could wear day to night without looking too over/underdressed.

I opted for this Missguided jumpsuit (the belt came with it and the bottoms have been taken up - I'm short OK), Primark clutch and shoes and Marks and Spencer leather jacket.

I basically live in black, so there is no surprise that this outfit is layered with it. I did look for a brighter clutch, preferably red, but I didn't find any that took my fancy. Instead I opted for a bold lip and red toenails to add a pop of colour to the outfit.

Makeup-wise, I went for a look that was easy to maintain as I didn't want to be dipping into my makeup bag more than I needed to. I opted for a winged liner of the eyes, a bold lip, a peach blush and a medium-high coverage foundation which didn't need much topping up.

These rings were also a Primark find. I really like how you can face them either way so that they are a block gold, or look as if they are two thinner rings.

I chose to use this Primark clutch as it's so spacious and has a zip so I was very unlikely to lose anything - which isn't hard for me.

Finally, the shoes (also from Primark - I didn't even realise how much Primark I was wearing).
Ideally I wanted to stiletto style of this shoe but my feet couldn't hack 30 seconds of hobbling around the store, let alone hours walking around London, so they were a no no. Originally I wasn't too keen on the lower heel but I've grown to love them. They are SO comfy to walk it. Literally, I can't explain. Last weekend was the first time I wore them so I was a little worried that I would be crying and buying new shoes after 5 minutes but no, I could have gone on and on. At around £12 you can't go wrong, so well done Primark.

Ideally I would have worn this hat (River Island) with this outfit, but again I didn't want to have to worry about it all day and night so wore my hair up instead. However, if I was a little closer to home or it wasn't an all day thing I would be more likely to opt for it as I think I prefer it?

And that's it, I hope you've enjoyed this sneak peak into my wardrobe.

There will be more style posts coming your way soon, so watch this space!

For now I will love you and leave you, have a great weekend.
