#20 Back to Uni Haul

FINALLY I have found time to shut myself away in my room and get blogging.

I've decided to do a 'haul' style post as since being back at university I seem to have gone a bit overboard with the spending considering I have no money... Hopefully writing this post will shock me into learning to say 'NO' when faced with temptation (fingers crossed).

I bought these beauties last weekend as I really wanted some new shoes to wear to my freshers ball. They didn't have any size 5s but luckily a 6 fitted perfectly - which was a shock as I have quite a small size 5 foot. I don't have any other creamy/beige shoes so these are a much needed addition to my wardrobe and at only £19.99 I would have been stupid to resist.

I really like the shape of peplum tops, however as my hips/thighs are the widest part of my body I wasn't sure whether I would like the shape of them on me. However, I tried on my friend's a while ago and quite liked it so thought I would invest in one. I wanted to get one in black and one in burgundy but sadly they only had my size in the black. Originally I liked the material of the ones in Topshop HOWEVER in New Look they are nearly identical and half the price at £9.99, so I bought it from there instead.

I can't get enough of studs at the moment, so when I found this beauty in Primark I had to purchase it. I THINK it was £8 which is so good for a clutch bag. Since buying this I have also seen a really nice one in Matalan which is very similar at also £8 (I think).

I'd been looking for a burgundy hoody for a while and originally planned to get one from Primark in the men's section, however they never had any XSs. Although I love lounging about and being lazy I'm  never too willing to spend money on 'comfy' clothes, but there is just something about this colour that I really love. I bought this hoody from New Look for around £14.99 (minus student discount). I've basically lived in it ever since, but one thing I must say is that it has already started going a bit bobbly which I HATE. Other than that, I love it.

This item I don't feel so guilty about as my parents bought it for me when they dropped me off back at uni. I found it in the New Look sale, but I cant remember how much it was. I really like the colour and pattern of this blouse as I don't own anything similar to it.

I also really like the shape of this blouse as it is longer at the back.

As I have an obsession with studs I picked this up in Primark for £8. I wanted to get a jumper that I really like as it's getting stupidly cold (which I hate). I really like teaming this with a white blouse underneath.

This blouse was also from Primark at £12. I didn't purchase it at first but when I went into the store a few days later I couldn't help myself. I wasn't sure of the pattern at first (koala bears) however they are cute and from far away you can't make out what they are anyway. I've really liked wearing this with a high waisted black skirt (also from Primark) and red lippy.

Furthermore, the studs were obviously a huge YES for me.

These cropped jeans are one of my most recent purchases. They were a huge bargain at only £12 in the Matalan sale (half price). I am worried that as I got a size 10 that they look a little more like ankle swingers than cropped jeans... and I am yet to wear them. I really liked the zips along the back at the bottom of the legs in particular. I'm undecided on whether I should keep them or take them back, but as they were so cheap I feel as though I might as well keep them?

This is another top that I found in the New Look sale, I think it was £5. I am a lover of anything black, white or grey (boring I know) so this stood out to me. What I really like about this is the material of the back of the top and the fact that it is longer than the front. It makes it a little more exciting than simply a black t-shirt.

I've wanted Converse for such a long time but never taken the plunge to get them as they are quite pricey. Recently my local shopping centre had a 'Student Lock In' where most shops offered 20% student discount, so I thought I would take advantage of it and finally get some! Originally I wanted black, however I was debating between black and white for a long time. I think that I made the right decision getting this colour though and can't wait to make good use of them! I did find that they rubbed a lot to start with but they are getting a lot better now which makes me HAPPY.

Recently I have been brave and started wearing lipstick both during the day and on nights out. I had a red that was pretty awful so I thought that whilst it is 3 for 2 in boots I would try out Kate Moss' new range for Rimmel. I really like this shade as it's not too dark and not too bright so can work during the day or night. I can't wait to wear it!

I love perfume but it is always so expensive so rarely purchase it. So when the sales assistant told me that it was half price at £14 I couldn't resist.

FINALLY I bought these the other day whilst in Boots and they only came to £4 due to the 3 for 2 offer which is a bargain. I really like this glitter topcoat as, as well as silver it also has blue glitter within it. Also, as I like wearing quite dull outfits I like wearing bright nail varnish to give it a kick of colour. Therefore I really liked this pinky/red. I'm not much of a fan of pink nails, and wish that this colour was a slightly more reddish tone but it looks good with the glitter over it. I also thought it was time to invest in a clear nail varnish as I am always chipping my nails, so hopefully this will help.

SO finally that is all of it. The fact that I am poor and have bought all of this in the past few weeks does make me think that I should stop... or slow down a little. BUT SHOPPING IS SO GOOD.

I will be back soon :)

HELLO HELLO HELLO

It has been a ridonkulously long time since I last posted anything which is a massive thumbs down from me. I've just been really busy with moving back to uni and such HOWEVER now I am more settled I will make sure that I get back into the swing of things. Siobhan, is visiting tomorrow but once I have some time to myself I will make sure that I get blogging!

Before I go however, I must tell you all to go and see Taken 2 and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I saw them both this evening and they were both amazin'. I had high hopes for Taken 2 anyway, however I was impressed with The Perks of Being a Wallflower as I wasn't sure whether I'd enjoy it or not.

That is all for now, but I WILL be back soon I promise!

#18 French Haul

Hello!

This will be my last post regarding my recent holiday to Agde. I wanted to share with you a few purchases that I made whilst I was away.

I purchased these beauties whilst at Gatwick airport and they were such a bargain! I think that they were only £3 in the Accessorize sale, so I would have been stupid not to have got them. Now I'm back home however, I don't think that they'll be getting used too much...

You'll have to ignore the scratches, me and my suitcase don't get on very well.

I also got these pots of nail varnish for a very good deal. I purchased them at a local french market in Agde and they were 5 Euros for 5 pots. I really liked the cool tones of the greeny/grey/purpley shades and the brightness of the reddy/orange. I've found that the rounded pots don't give such a good even finish compared to the others, but they aren't bad (especially considering they were only 1 Euro each)!

My next purchases were these two BEAUTIFUL necklaces. We stumbled across the market where I bought these by accident and I immediately fell in love with the first necklace. I had a little look at what else they had to offer and the second one also caught my eye. I am in love with necklaces that style so I HAD to pick that one up too! At first I thought they might be expensive but it turned out that they were only 5 Euros each. They are probably my favourite purchases from the entire holiday!
These two cleansers were the final items that I bought whilst in Agde. French skin care is rated very highly and therefore I wanted to give a couple of products a go myself. I was tempted to buy Bioderma, however the pharmacist informed me that it works better on dry skin which is the complete opposite to my skin type. I've used both of these products already, however I have used the Vichy Purete Themale 3-1 Micellar Lotion more than La Roche Posay Solution Micellaire Physiologique. I plan to do a post based on my opinions of these two products once I have used them more. Although I purchased these in France I THINK that you can buy them in boots, however I may be wrong. If not, you can always order them online easily enough.

So there you have it!

#17 Home again!

Hello!

I am finally back at home and as expected the weather is far from pleasant!

Yesterday when the landlord came to pick up the keys he turned up with the cutest little dog ever! It looked so happy and AWWWW. I am so jealous of anyone who owns any of the following: a cat, dog or rabbit. I reaaaaallllllllly want a pet but apparently they are 'too much hassle' so I'm going to have to wait until I move out WAH.
All packed and ready to go home :(
Such a cutesy!
The traffic was awful on the way to the airport but we arrived in Montpellier in plenty of time. Once we had checked in we asked at the information desk whether or not there was anywhere to get food past security, the answer was yes. This was in fact wrong. We were STARVING so after going through security we had to go all the way back out and get food.

I know it's not to everyone's taste BUT I can't get enough of the double denim!
We then had to go through security for the second time and wait for our plane. Luckily we didn't have TOO long to wait and we were first to board so obviously we opted for the seats with extra leg room. I got really into my book on the plane and Doug and I treated ourselves to a Starbucks.
It was so depressing stepping off the plane into the cold air - but what did we expect, this is England after all.  We picked up a snack from M&S (I LOVE the packing of their products) and then caught a bus to go and pick up our car.
I highly recommend this - IT WAS DELICIOUS.
It didn't take too long to get home. It was so nice to get into my bed! Although it was FREEZING and trying to sleep proved to be very difficult. I can't decide what is worse, trying to sleep when it's boiling hot or when it is absolutely freezing! Before I got into bed however I did have to cheekily order a bag from Select (I couldn't risk it going out of stock)! But I will tell you more about that when it has arrived!

I've been in such a rush today! Despite taking ages to get to sleep I did sleep very well being back in my bed so I didn't wake up until 12ish. Then my friend, Hannah came over for a catch up. Now the day seems to be disappearing very rapidly and I have so much to do! I wanted to get this blog post done now though instead of holding it off for ages!

I hope you are all well!

#16 France: Days 13&14

BONJOUR!

We have finished packing up all our things to go back home (boohoo) and had some lunch, so I thought I'd take advantage of having nothing to do and write a cheeky blog post.

Yesterday we bundled into the car and ventured off to Collioure. We stayed in Collioure six years ago so it was interesting to go back and see it again. I don't remember LOADS from back then but it had definitely got a lot busier since we had last been. It's not exactly surprising though as it is a beautiful little seaside town.

Last night we went to La Perle Noire for dinner. This was the third time that we chose this restaurant because it was SO NICE. The staff were also lovely - one waitress in particular was really really nice. Surprisingly (for once) I wasn't very hungry but that didn't stop me ordering dessert. I had this chocolate fondant and it was soooooo yummy!

We went out for lunch today at the same place that we went on the day we arrived. I had the same salad again and a crepe with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. They were both delicious. I opted for diet coke to drink. I've never been much of a fan of the diet stuff, I'm more of a full fat, high calorie coke girl. HOWEVER as I am going to try and be healthier when I get home I've been trying to force myself to like it - and it's working (kind of).

This is how I feel about going home - sad sad Bec.

Well that's all I have time for now! We are just packing away the last few things and then we are off. These two weeks seem to have gone past so quickly! I am looking forward to see my friends back home a lot though!!

#15 France: Days 11&12

.... AND I'M BACK!

On Tuesday we took a trip to a local medieval town. It was literally BOILING. Stepping out of the cool, air conditioned car I felt as though I had walked straight into a blazing fire. Although the rest of my family weren't too keen I was LOVING the heat.

We weren't actually there for that long in the end but it was really nice to go somewhere new and have a look around. The town had been restored really well. It was SO busy and most of the people there were English tourists. It was so weird hearing people around us speaking English as where we are located in Agde, there are barely any English people.

That night I had one of THE BEST dinners that I have had during the whole holiday. Although it doesn't look particularly appetising, this Salmon in pastry with brousse cheese was DELICIOUS.

Also, I have always liked ratatouille and around here it seems to be a particular favourite as it comes with pretty much any meal you order (not that I am complaining)! I am definitely going to bring out the domestic goddess within me and rustle some up when I go back to uni!

I also did a bit of catching up on True Blood yesterday whilst I had nothing to do. I am so glad that my flatmate, Mark, introduced me to it. It is so good and SO addictive. Definitely go and watch it if you've never seen it before!

It makes me sad to think that we only have two more days left here in Agde. Time seems to have gone stupidly quickly! Although I am looking forward to going home and catching up with my friends, it's been nice to spend some time with my family. Usually I am hardly ever at home so it's been good to actually spend some quality time together (especially as I go back to uni in a few weeks).

Today we ventured to the beach again as we wanted to make the most of the sun before we return home to cold, rainy England. The beach was really quiet again, and there was a slight breeze which was nice as it meant we didn't feel like we were literally frying in the heat! I'm hoping that I will look brown to everyone when I go back home but I'm not really sure how tanned I am to be honest... Sometimes I think I've really caught the sun, and others I feel as though I haven't changed colour at all!

Tonight we went out for a lovely meal. Myself and my mum shared a paella which was delicious (and HUGE)! We were stuffed once we'd finished it (although obviously we did squeeze in a pudding)!

After dinner we strolled up the road a little and watched a jazz band for a while. Obviously when it came to ordering our drinks I went for the 'daily desperados' as I've started calling it!

When we got back obviously a game of UNO was in order, but first dad and I had to go and buy the chocolate as it had been demanded for by a particular someone haha. I didn't win any games tonight though which made me SAD.

That's all really. Now you are up to date YAY.

I think that we might be off out somewhere in the car tomorrow but god knows what we'll actually end up doing...

Hope you are all well!!
