#18 French Haul

Hello!

This will be my last post regarding my recent holiday to Agde. I wanted to share with you a few purchases that I made whilst I was away.

I purchased these beauties whilst at Gatwick airport and they were such a bargain! I think that they were only £3 in the Accessorize sale, so I would have been stupid not to have got them. Now I'm back home however, I don't think that they'll be getting used too much...

You'll have to ignore the scratches, me and my suitcase don't get on very well.

I also got these pots of nail varnish for a very good deal. I purchased them at a local french market in Agde and they were 5 Euros for 5 pots. I really liked the cool tones of the greeny/grey/purpley shades and the brightness of the reddy/orange. I've found that the rounded pots don't give such a good even finish compared to the others, but they aren't bad (especially considering they were only 1 Euro each)!

My next purchases were these two BEAUTIFUL necklaces. We stumbled across the market where I bought these by accident and I immediately fell in love with the first necklace. I had a little look at what else they had to offer and the second one also caught my eye. I am in love with necklaces that style so I HAD to pick that one up too! At first I thought they might be expensive but it turned out that they were only 5 Euros each. They are probably my favourite purchases from the entire holiday!
These two cleansers were the final items that I bought whilst in Agde. French skin care is rated very highly and therefore I wanted to give a couple of products a go myself. I was tempted to buy Bioderma, however the pharmacist informed me that it works better on dry skin which is the complete opposite to my skin type. I've used both of these products already, however I have used the Vichy Purete Themale 3-1 Micellar Lotion more than La Roche Posay Solution Micellaire Physiologique. I plan to do a post based on my opinions of these two products once I have used them more. Although I purchased these in France I THINK that you can buy them in boots, however I may be wrong. If not, you can always order them online easily enough.

So there you have it!

#17 Home again!

Hello!

I am finally back at home and as expected the weather is far from pleasant!

Yesterday when the landlord came to pick up the keys he turned up with the cutest little dog ever! It looked so happy and AWWWW. I am so jealous of anyone who owns any of the following: a cat, dog or rabbit. I reaaaaallllllllly want a pet but apparently they are 'too much hassle' so I'm going to have to wait until I move out WAH.
All packed and ready to go home :(
Such a cutesy!
The traffic was awful on the way to the airport but we arrived in Montpellier in plenty of time. Once we had checked in we asked at the information desk whether or not there was anywhere to get food past security, the answer was yes. This was in fact wrong. We were STARVING so after going through security we had to go all the way back out and get food.

I know it's not to everyone's taste BUT I can't get enough of the double denim!
We then had to go through security for the second time and wait for our plane. Luckily we didn't have TOO long to wait and we were first to board so obviously we opted for the seats with extra leg room. I got really into my book on the plane and Doug and I treated ourselves to a Starbucks.
It was so depressing stepping off the plane into the cold air - but what did we expect, this is England after all.  We picked up a snack from M&S (I LOVE the packing of their products) and then caught a bus to go and pick up our car.
I highly recommend this - IT WAS DELICIOUS.
It didn't take too long to get home. It was so nice to get into my bed! Although it was FREEZING and trying to sleep proved to be very difficult. I can't decide what is worse, trying to sleep when it's boiling hot or when it is absolutely freezing! Before I got into bed however I did have to cheekily order a bag from Select (I couldn't risk it going out of stock)! But I will tell you more about that when it has arrived!

I've been in such a rush today! Despite taking ages to get to sleep I did sleep very well being back in my bed so I didn't wake up until 12ish. Then my friend, Hannah came over for a catch up. Now the day seems to be disappearing very rapidly and I have so much to do! I wanted to get this blog post done now though instead of holding it off for ages!

I hope you are all well!

#16 France: Days 13&14

BONJOUR!

We have finished packing up all our things to go back home (boohoo) and had some lunch, so I thought I'd take advantage of having nothing to do and write a cheeky blog post.

Yesterday we bundled into the car and ventured off to Collioure. We stayed in Collioure six years ago so it was interesting to go back and see it again. I don't remember LOADS from back then but it had definitely got a lot busier since we had last been. It's not exactly surprising though as it is a beautiful little seaside town.

Last night we went to La Perle Noire for dinner. This was the third time that we chose this restaurant because it was SO NICE. The staff were also lovely - one waitress in particular was really really nice. Surprisingly (for once) I wasn't very hungry but that didn't stop me ordering dessert. I had this chocolate fondant and it was soooooo yummy!

We went out for lunch today at the same place that we went on the day we arrived. I had the same salad again and a crepe with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. They were both delicious. I opted for diet coke to drink. I've never been much of a fan of the diet stuff, I'm more of a full fat, high calorie coke girl. HOWEVER as I am going to try and be healthier when I get home I've been trying to force myself to like it - and it's working (kind of).

This is how I feel about going home - sad sad Bec.

Well that's all I have time for now! We are just packing away the last few things and then we are off. These two weeks seem to have gone past so quickly! I am looking forward to see my friends back home a lot though!!

#15 France: Days 11&12

.... AND I'M BACK!

On Tuesday we took a trip to a local medieval town. It was literally BOILING. Stepping out of the cool, air conditioned car I felt as though I had walked straight into a blazing fire. Although the rest of my family weren't too keen I was LOVING the heat.

We weren't actually there for that long in the end but it was really nice to go somewhere new and have a look around. The town had been restored really well. It was SO busy and most of the people there were English tourists. It was so weird hearing people around us speaking English as where we are located in Agde, there are barely any English people.

That night I had one of THE BEST dinners that I have had during the whole holiday. Although it doesn't look particularly appetising, this Salmon in pastry with brousse cheese was DELICIOUS.

Also, I have always liked ratatouille and around here it seems to be a particular favourite as it comes with pretty much any meal you order (not that I am complaining)! I am definitely going to bring out the domestic goddess within me and rustle some up when I go back to uni!

I also did a bit of catching up on True Blood yesterday whilst I had nothing to do. I am so glad that my flatmate, Mark, introduced me to it. It is so good and SO addictive. Definitely go and watch it if you've never seen it before!

It makes me sad to think that we only have two more days left here in Agde. Time seems to have gone stupidly quickly! Although I am looking forward to going home and catching up with my friends, it's been nice to spend some time with my family. Usually I am hardly ever at home so it's been good to actually spend some quality time together (especially as I go back to uni in a few weeks).

Today we ventured to the beach again as we wanted to make the most of the sun before we return home to cold, rainy England. The beach was really quiet again, and there was a slight breeze which was nice as it meant we didn't feel like we were literally frying in the heat! I'm hoping that I will look brown to everyone when I go back home but I'm not really sure how tanned I am to be honest... Sometimes I think I've really caught the sun, and others I feel as though I haven't changed colour at all!

Tonight we went out for a lovely meal. Myself and my mum shared a paella which was delicious (and HUGE)! We were stuffed once we'd finished it (although obviously we did squeeze in a pudding)!

After dinner we strolled up the road a little and watched a jazz band for a while. Obviously when it came to ordering our drinks I went for the 'daily desperados' as I've started calling it!

When we got back obviously a game of UNO was in order, but first dad and I had to go and buy the chocolate as it had been demanded for by a particular someone haha. I didn't win any games tonight though which made me SAD.

That's all really. Now you are up to date YAY.

I think that we might be off out somewhere in the car tomorrow but god knows what we'll actually end up doing...

Hope you are all well!!

#14 France: Days 9&10

HELLO AGAIN FINALLY

It feels like forever since I last blogged! I'm finding it hard to keep track of everything that I've been up to (although when I think about it I don't think we have actually been up to that much).

On Sunday (at least I think that it was sunday) we went to the park that we had discovered the day before and had a sunbathe. All was well until I realised that my towel was crawling with ants... Other than that is was nice to sit in the sunshine and read (what was then) my new book (which I have now finished).

Couldn't put it down - such a good read.
On the subject of books, I have finished 50 Shades of Grey. Although I didn't find that it was a book that I couldn't put down, I was left feeling eager to read the next book. So it looks like I am going to HAVE to give it a read - hopefully I'll enjoy it more than the first one!

On Monday we hired out one of the boats that we had seen earlier in the week and it was so much fun! My brother ended up driving the boat most of the way but I did have a cheeky little go. I was a little scared to begin with but it was FINE and I thought I did quite well! Bar the small incident when I stopped concentrating to take a picture and nearly steered into another boat - but we can forget about that haha. It was so nice to strip down to my bikini, have a little sunbathe and relax listening to a bit of Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard.

Excited about hiring the boat!

Captain Doug

We got a bit excited about the snacks...

Happy Bec loving life driving the boat!

Later that evening after we had eaten our meal at a local pizza restaurant we wandered up to the top of town and stumbled across a market. I immediately set eyes on a necklace with a leaf detail and went over to have a closer look. It turns out that all items were only a mere 5 euros each so I ended up treating myself to two new necklaces! I'm going to do a 'French Haul' blog post when I get home so I will save all the details until then.

To save this post being stupidly long I am going to stop here and continue with the next two days on the next post!

#13 France: Days 7&8

YO YO YO PEOPLE

SO we FINALLY went to the beach yesterday which meant I FINALLY caught the sun YIPEEE.

We are lucky that where we're staying the beach is really quiet. It was so nice to sunbathe, whack my headphones in and read a bit of 50 shades. I'm not sure that I'm quite as fond of 50 shades as I thought I would be. Whenever I do pick it up and have a read I usually get quite into it but, I don't find myself feeling the urge to keep picking it up. I have found that I have enjoyed it more as it's gone on but we'll see. I only have roughly 70 pages left and I reckon that I will read the second book anyway - hopefully I'll get into that one more.

Passing fishing boat on our way back from the beach.
Last night we went out for dinner as per usual and I wore my beloved maxi dress (which the waitress commented on saying that she liked it which was lovely)! Both myself and Doug ordered the Duck breast for our main course and it was DELICIOUS.

Salted peanuts are addictive. That is all.

Today my parents and I were having a little stalk out of the balcony as there was a wedding going on in the town hall across the road from us. It was actually quite exciting watching everyone arriving all dressed up! When the bride finally turned up there was a lot of cheering and her dress looked nice (from what I could see)!

The wedding car!

Later we decided to go for a walk along the river for something to do as we hadn't really done anything yet! We always seem to spend the first week of our holidays doing nothing and then the second frantically trying to get everything we wanted to do done haha!

So glad these here behind a fence, stupidly scared of swans!

Whilst on our walk we past these boats that are available for hire. I THINK that we have decided that we are going to hire one at some point next week. I can't wait! I am definitely going to get my bikini on and (fingers crossed) top up the tan!

Too excited to hire one of these!

After our evening meal tonight we went to a bar for a while. I have been loving Desperados this week so obviously that was what I opted for - if you haven't tired one before DO IT they are delicious! We have also drank our fair share of wine this week, but we're on holiday so it's fine right?

Yummy yum yum!

That's all for now! I think that we are going to the beach again tomorrow (well, myself and mum are) hopefully! All I want is a tan and then I will be happy! ALSO I found this song earlier thanks to my friend Jess and I absolutely love it so think you should all give it a good listen (if you haven't already) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVeMiVU77wo
