#35 Argan Plus +

Hello Hello Hello

I was planning on posting this yesterday but distractions got the better of me so sorry that it is late!

Today I will be talking haircare. Firstly, I must admit that I am extremely guilty of neglecting my hair and putting it through the wars. I've been applying heat to my hair for the past decade so you can imagine that it's not in the best condition. I used to be obsessed with having dead straight hair, so all through secondary school I would straighten my hair EVERY DAY (sorry hair). Since coming to university I've tried to resist styling my hair with my straighteners as much in order to try and be a little nicer to my hair but it's still very dry.

I don't usually purchase many haircare products, but this year I am determined to try and treat my poor hair with a little more love. Recently I invested in the Argan Plus + Luxury Wash Shampoo, Hydrating Conditioner and Luxury Oil and I've really noticed a difference in the condition of my hair.
All these products smell AMAZING. I literally can't get over how good it smells. The shampoo has quite a jelly like texture to it so I do find that I have to use a little more than I would with a shampoo with a 'normal' consistency in order for it to foam up well. However, the conditioner has a normal silky texture and I use the same amount as I usually would with a different product. Once I've used these two products in the shower I apply 1/2 pumps of the Luxury Oil to wet hair and comb it through ensuring to cover the ends of my hair as they are the driest. As well as applying the oil on wet hair, I also use it a small amount (around half/one pump) on the ends of my hair when it is dry. I tend to focus on the ends where my hair it is the driest and avoid the roots to prevent hair looking/getting greasy quickly.

As you can tell I like to babble on and on and could literally write so much more but I am forcing myself to stop now haha. I hope you found this helpful. If you have dry hair and use a lot of heat whilst styling it like myself, I really recommend these products.

I'd love to hear about any haircare products that you swear by?

Have a lovely weekend!

#34 Summertime Sadness

Good evening guys, I hope you've all had a good week!

Today I'm going to share my opinion on two Marks and Spencer lipsticks with you. I bought both of these during the summer as I felt like I wanted to invest in something to give my make up an extra pop of colour. I can't completely remember how much these were each but I don't think they were too expensive.

When I first picked them up I was amazed by the packaging, and who isn't drawn in by nice packaging? In order to open these lipsticks you press the bottom (where the shade is shown) and it then pops out so you can pull it out of the lid, exciting I know.

All excitement aside, sadly I'm not all that impressed with either of these products. I can't fault the shades - Raspberry (the pink shade) is very pigmented when applied, however the Wild Geranium (the coral shade) lacks the same coverage. Furthermore their staying power is nothing to rave about. Obviously it depends what you are doing (eating/drinking), but for me I found that within about 30 minutes the colour had basically disappeared.

After being wowed by the packaging I was quite disappointed by these purchases and wouldn'trecommend them if you are looking for lasting colour.

I'll be back next Friday ready to talk hair. See you then.

#33 Gifts Galore

HELLO

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and that you're enjoying the New Year so far!

I love being nosey and seeing what people received for Christmas, so I thought that I would share some things that I got for both Christmas and my Birthday today. On one hand it's great having my Birthday and Christmas so close together as the celebrations go on and on and the gifts never seem to stop. However once Christmas is out the way it's a little depressing realising that I have a whole year to wait for it to come around again. Although I can't complain too much as my brother has to deal with having a birthday ON Christmas day, upsetting I know.

Every girl loves a bit of sparkle, myself included, although I prefer things a little more understated when it comes to jewellery. SO my housemates clubbed together to get me this beautiful Pandora charm bracelet. I really like the grey colour of the band against the silver. I've recently cut all my festival bands off *cry cry* so I am sure I will get a lot more wear out of it now.

The next gift I received was this lovely watch from Matt. Years ago I had a really nice brown one from Urban Outfitters but sadly lost it and haven't bought another since. The dark brown strap is gorgeous and the face of the watch, although small, makes a statement with the pattern and chunky outline. It really suits my style so I'm rarely going to be taking it off!
I'm a sucker for anything 'pretty' or 'cute' so instantly fell in love with these Topshop PJ shorts that my brother bought me. The lace detail gives them a feminine touch and the material is so smooth against my skin. Although it's a bit chilly to wear them all the time at the moment, they are great for when I need to moisturise my legs and will be perfect for when (/if) the sun comes out.
Next it's onto some Christmas pressies. Every year I get this perfume and it is definitely my all time favourite! I advise anyone who hasn't smelt it before to go and get your hands on it, but be prepared to fall in love and never look back.
Being a big beauty lover it may come as a shock to you that I have never owned anything from MAC. Well, that was until now. With a little help with the colour, Matt got me this beautiful matte lipstick from MAC (the shade is Diva). I am a huge fan of red lips and am rarely seen without lipstick on. For the winter months I've wanted a slightly deeper tone to wear, rather than my beloved Max Factor Colour Elixir lipstick in Ruby Tuesday. I have worn it a couple of times already and it lasts for hours! The only thing I would say is that being a matte lipstick it is quite drying, so ensure lips are well moisturised beforehand.
I feel as though I could go on forever and tell you every little thing I got, although I am sure that would bore you to death so I will share one last thing today. I got this lovely Cath Kidston wash bag. Who doesn't like a good floral pattern? And it actually fits a lot more inside it than I was expecting which is a bonus.

I did also get plenty of beauty/skin products but I won't bore you with those now as I am sure they will make an appearance sooner or later.

I'm sorry if this has bored you out of your mind haha. I get a little excited about presents. I hope you've enjoyed this post and I'll be back with more soon.

P.S I would also like to say a BIG thank you to Matt for taking these photos and sorting them out for me -what a star.
