#6 France: Day 1

BONJOUR!

I have arrived at my destination (Agde, the South of France) and I already feel drained by the heat! As we managed to get the internet working, I thought that whilst I had a spare bit of time I would fill you in on the recent events in the life of Becmo! Being away I wasn't expecting to get the chance to blog that much, but if anything I think that I will in fact have more spare time!
All ready for the airport

To begin with here are some pictures taken from at airport...

AMAZING giant biscuits myself and Doug found in Costa this morning. They were so tempting! I had to resist though as I had already been naughty and polished off THREE hash browns from McDonald's oopsie!

I am VERY fussy when it comes to sandwiches, especially ones sold in shops. So I had to make sure that I had a snack I would enjoy on the plane as I cannot stand foreign sandwiches ew.

Whilst at the airport we I stumbled across a pair of sunglasses in Accessorize that I really liked. Originally they were £15 which isn’t extravagant for sunglasses as some people pay hundreds for a good pair. For a girl as clumsy as me however £15 is pushing it a bit. They were in the sale though so I thought, why not? I was expecting to pay around £5 but when I got to the till they were only £3, what a bargain!

I think that I slept through most of the flight and pretty much the whole drive to our apartment. I am still feeling soooo tired! Obviously the sun isn’t helping but in no way am I complaining, the sunshine is beautiful.

The town that we are staying in is very traditional and really reflects French culture and architecture well.

The front door to our apartment

Once we arrived and carried our suitcases up the tightest, windiest staircase imaginable we went out to lunch in a local cafe. We all indulged in a salad of our choosing which I have to say was delicious, and as we are on holiday we cracked out the wine. For pudding myself, my mum and my dad went for a cafe gourmand style dessert. We weren’t too sure what they pastry style dessert was but it was very very nice! My brother however had to show us all up with his mountainous coffee/ice cream combo.

Afternoon wine

After we had eaten we went for a stroll around the local town. I really like the traditional buildings that make up Agde. I am sure that I will go a little bit crazy with the photos and take a little too many of buildings but I just can’t help myself! There are a lot of small shops dotted around too which are nice to look in. Although what I am really excited for is to go to some markets whilst we are here. I am a huge fan of markets (the jewelry stalls in particular) especially in foreign countries.

Some amazing street art on the front of a closed shop door. I REALLY like this, it think it's so pretty!
I quite like the apartment that we are staying in. It has two large doors that open out onto a balcony that overlooks the town and it is quite spacious. Although I am a little annoyed about the fact that it stated in its description that there would be a hairdryer here and there isn’t. Neither me or my mum brought one and I don’t think it’s fair on the poor people of Agde for me to brave my natural hair!

I also feel like we have a fifth family member here in the apartment... There is a cardboard cut out of a woman in a bikini under the stairs and she keeps catching me eye and every time I mistake her for a real person! Doug keeps doing it too and it makes us jump so much!

The scary cardboard cut out that keeps scaring the life out of me and Doug!

I really should go and unpack but unpacking is one of those tedious things I hate doing. I quite enjoying packing but when it comes to unpacking I’m really not a fan.

Anyway, that is all for today! I should probably have a shower and start getting ready to go out in a bit!

#3 Ticket men, Body Butter and costume making

Hello wonderful people!

So, I officially hate ticket men. I had the WORST journey home on the train this Tuesday. I'd bought a ticket and got discount as I have a railcard, however when the ticket man came around I suddenly realised I had forgotten it! I was hoping that he would be sympathetic and let me off with a small fine but that wasn't the case. He made me pay £69 (which for me is a HUGE amount of money!) for a new ticket home. I had NO idea what to do as I didn't even have the money on my card... Luckily Mark stood up and paid for me and has since been paid back. It made the whole experience of coming home SO stressful but it is safe to say I will not be forgetting my railcard again anytime soon!

Since this disaster I have quite enjoyed my time at home. It's nice to come back and see my family, and drive my ickle little Micra again!

Today Nat, Mark and I went to town and I stocked up on some much needed beauty products. Whilst we were in The Body Shop I found the Raspberry Body Butter in the sale for only £6. Not only did the price excite me, but so did the scent. I used to be obsessed with the raspberry one but for recent months I haven't seen it anywhere. So I am very happy with my purchase (which resulted in being only £5.40 as I have a Body Shop card)! If you haven't used Body Butter from The Body Shop before I would definitely recommend it. It's so thick and nourishing and the different scents are delicious!

We also went to see the new Spider-Man film today. I saw Batman last week and I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy Spider-Man as much, as I had heard that it wasn't as good as Batman. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Both myself and Natalie found ourselves getting quite emotional! Next I really want to see Ted, I am hoping my brother will come with me before we go away.

Nat and I have spent tonight making our outfits for Fieldview this weekend. The theme is Myths and Fairytales so we have decided to make togas (as they are cheap and easy, and we are poor and lazy haha). Personally I don't think they have turned out too badly! I will post a picture on here once I have some decent ones of us wearing them.

I cannot believe that Fieldview that starts tomorrow! We are listening to the playlist now and I am getting more excited by the second! I can't wait to get my beloved Levis on, pull on some wellies and get stuck into the excitement!

That's all for now my lovelies, I will be back after Fieldview!

#1 Retail therapy and decorating

Hello again!

Today I am a happy happy girl. The sun is shining yet again and I am currently in the midst of getting ready for a much needed catch up with two old school friends. I cannot wait to see them as this is very much over due!

When I returned home from Ibiza last Wednesday after a week in the beautiful sunshine, I was dreading coming home to wind, and rain, and everything that the summer isn't meant to consist of. However, this week the weather has done itself proud. I finally feel like it is actually the summer! Typically I seem to have broken both pairs of my sunglasses which is more than annoying. Luckily though my lovely mother is on her way to town to pick me up some more from that marvelous place that is Primark!

I found it tricky after returning from Ibiza to know what to wear after being in the heat, but thankfully I no longer have that problem! One thing I cannot get enough of is denim shorts. I basically live in my Levis from Urban Outfitters, they really are beautiful. Today the Levis are on and I am contemplating on a double denim combo.. I have never worn double denim before as I think it can either look really good or disastrous. Personally I think that I am more willing to brave it today as I know that it is hot so it's very unlikely that I will actually need to wear my denim jacket..

I am going back to Southampton on Thursday for a week for my friends birthday and I plan to decorate my room whilst I am there. So yesterday me and the mother went for a little shop in order to get paint and other 'essentials' for my new house.

I decided to get 'contemporary' for the main walls and then 'candyfloss' for two smaller walls. I am hoping that my new room will be looking cute and homely in no time once I have it decorated and everything moved in properly!

As my room is on the top floor and there are A LOT of stairs to get through me and my mummy took advantage of the Laura Ashley sale and bought a very pretty tray. This way I might actually be able to carry everything upstairs with me without having to take multiple trips which would feel like the equivalent to hard work out at the gym!

As I am an absolutely HUGE lover of tea and biscuits I obviously also needed to be treated to some matching food storage boxes that I can keep all my tasty treats in!

Buying all this stuff gets me so excited to move in properly and make it feel homely!

As I was in town in only felt right that I also treat myself to a couple of things (with the sales calling it'd be rude to say no).

I bought myself this a new cross necklace which was an absolute bargin at only £2 from DP. I've wanted a necklace like this for a while now and for £2 I would have been stupid not to have bought it. I've been wearing it ever since I bought it so it's proving to be a good purchase so far!

When I first learnt what flatforms were I wasn't a fan, however they have since grown on me. As I am quite short they give me the extra bit of height that I need and elongate my legs. I was debating between this pair and another pair (both from New Look) which annoyingly I cannot find on the website. Since getting home I think I preferred the others as they were more casual and I would like to wear them mostly casually during the day. I am so indecisive that I am forever changing my mind when it comes to things like this! I plan to try these on with outfits that I am likely to wear and see what I think. If not, I will be paying another trip to New Look and hopefully doing an exchange!

Anyway, that is enough rambling on for me for one day! I am going to meet my friend now ready to go for lunch :D I am also seeing The Dark Knight Rises later with another friend. I've heard from a few people that it is really good so hopefully it'll live up to expectations!
